Search for an image

Procedure

  1. Click the CHECK SERVICES tab, and then in the Research Tools section, select Image Search.

The Image Search page provides a list of search criteria you can use to search for images. You are required to select:

    • Account
    • Item Type
    • Date (or Date Range)
    Account

The account that includes the image for which you are searching

    Item Type

The type of item to include in the search:

    • Credit – Searches for images associated with any credit item, such as a deposit or credit memo
    • Debit – Searches for images associated with a debit, typically a check
    • Deposit Item – Searches the image archive directly for individual deposit items
    • Returned Item – Searches for images associated with any returned item
    Date

Represents the date when the image the user is searching for was created

This date can be either an exact date or a date range.

    Serial Number

The serial number of the item

When selected, options for Single or Range appear. The user chooses the appropriate option and then enters either single serial number or a range of serial numbers.

    Item Amount

    The amount of the item

When selected, options for Single or Range appear. The user chooses the appropriate option and then enters either an exact amount or an amount range.

    Deposit Amount

The deposit amount of the item

When selected, a field appears. The user enters the exact deposit amount.

  2. After you have entered all the search criteria, click Search.

Information for the images that match the search criteria is displayed in a list on the Image Search Results page. The columns included in the list differ slightly depending on the type of item (credit, debit, or deposit). The Images column provides links for image viewing.

The View Image link displays the selected image in a separate browser window. For more information on using the options of the image viewer, see Viewing images.

If you searched for a credit image, the results page includes an additional Item List link. You can use this option to view the individual deposit items that comprise the credit. When a credit is a deposit (as opposed to a memo or other type of credit), the amount represents the sum of all deposit items included in the deposit.
