Approve or reject transfer rules

About this task

If authorization is required, the transfer rule must be approved before a transfer rule can be evaluated by the system. Rules that require approval include new, modified, and deleted rules. The status of the rules, displayed in the Manage Transfer Rules list, identify rules that require approval.

Rejected rules can either be deleted or modified. If the rule is modified, it is placed in Pending Modify Approval status where it can be reviewed for approval.

Rules can be approved or rejected on an individual basis, or multiple rules can either be approved or rejected as a group.

Procedure

  1. From the Transfers menu, in the Manage section, select Transfer Rules. The Manage Transfer Rules page appears.

    Note: If a Transfers menu is not available, transfer rule options may be accessed using the Payments menu.

  2. From the Transfer Rules list, in the Status column, click the Pending Approval link. The Approve Transfer Rule page appears.

    Note: You cannot approve or reject rules that you have created unless you are appropriately entitled. The status for rules that you can approve or reject is displayed as a hypertext link.

  3. Review the rule information and do either of the following:

    To... Do this...
    Add a memo Enter the authorization information in the Authorization Memo text field.

    For example: If you are rejecting the rule, enter the reason for rejection and what needs to be modified.

    Approve the transfer rule Click the Approve button.
    Reject the transfer rule Click the Reject button.

    The Manage Transfer Rules page appears showing a success message. The status of the rule is updated to reflect the approved or rejected status.
